Wilshire Ave, Bevely Hills
City of Beverly Hills Seismic Program

WHAT WE DID

The City of Beverly Hills implemented a city wide seismic program.

Degenkolb assisted The City of Beverly Hills with its seismic program. The program entailed two (2) phases: Phase 1: Identify and create an inventory of seismically vulnerable buildings in multifamily residential and commercial zones including non-ductile concrete buildings, pre-Northridge steel moment frame buildings, and soft-story wood buildings; Phase 2: Assist the City of Beverly Hills in developing seismic ordinances to reduce the seismic risk of vulnerable buildings identified under Phase 1.

Features

  • Service: Seismic Evaluations and Ordinance developing

Benefits:

  • Creating a city seismic program helped to ensure that in the event of a major earthquake, older buildings will be more likely to survive, which in turn would lower possible casualties.
