Degenkolb provided structural design services to support a complete renovation of the food services facilities at a Confidential Technology Client facility in San Francisco. The building is a historic 3-story brick and heavy-timber building with a full basement built at the beginning of the 20th century. Scope included the creation of a coffee bar, café space and back-of-house upgrades.
Features:
Structural engineering services included anchorage for artistic metal wall panels, seismic bracing for the suspended kitchen hoods, framing around a new roof opening, and seismic anchorage of a new pizza oven.
Benefits:
Degenkolb worked with the project architect VDTA to minimize the impact of the structural support and anchorage details on the aesthetic look of the various architectural features.
