Degenkolb designed the renovation and retrofit of this one story concrete masonry library building. The renovation included adding an elevator, moving two stairwells, and designing a new roof light monitor to allow for more natural light in the building. Retrofit measures included anchorage of the masonry walls to the roof diaphragm. The retrofit scope was added during the construction phase of modernization. Degenkolb’s strong relationship with DSA was pivotal in getting the change order approved for the retrofit during construction.
