WHAT WE DID

As Structural Engineer of Record, Degenkolb Engineers is part of the Hensel Phelps and SmithGroupJJR / AVRP design-build team. The project includes a new 7-story, 197,000 sf, 138-bed patient tower with six OR’s, new kitchen, and dining on the roof. Levels 2 and 3 of the tower are designed with strict vibration criteria. The building is steel framed.
The project also features a concrete and steel Entry Building with a large cantilevered canopy, a new loading dock and materials management area with an extensive canopy system, and the NPC4 reclassification and renovation of the generator building.

My longest walk to date is almost 250 miles long. If you have never taken a walk in the woods on the John Muir Trail, do it. it is an experience that will change your life.
Although my last name sounds German it is actually English.
I leaned toward an engineering degree where I could solve real world problems and see my designs come to life.
I spent time as a child in Turkey and am a theater fan.
I went into structural engineering because buildings are my passion.
I had the opportunity to live in a van and travel around New Zealand for 4 months!
I visited Harbin, China in 2011 where I went to the Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival and fed a Siberian Tiger.
I come from a family of 11 children and married a woman whose family had 11 children…and for 15 years, we had just 1 child…now 2.
My favorite band is Daftpunk.
I saw a Space Shuttle launch from Kennedy Space Center at the ripe young age of 6 years old.
